Dipping Belt - How to wear Dip Belt correctly, watch in this video
It seems like a very simple process but I see a lot of people doing it
wrong all the time. When you’re adding resistance to a belt like this,
you want to make sure that you are doing it safely so that you don’t
have to worry about the belt slipping off during your exercise or the
weight itself coming loose and falling. So I’m just going to cover that
real quick in this video and hopefully this helps you.
1. Start by taking the belt and wrapping it around your waist.
2. This is a very important step. Take the end with a carabiner and drop
it through the loop. A lot of people miss this step and just take the
chain and wrap it directly around the dumbbell or the kettle bell or
whatever they are using for resistance, then they loop it on to the
other side of the belt. Unfortunately, this doesn’t allow the belt to
tighten (like this) when you wrapped it through. Make sure that you
don’t miss this step of dropping it through and allowing the belt to
tighten as more resistance is added.
3. If you want to use a dumbbell instead of a kettle bell, make sure you
wrap the chain around them a couple times (like I have here) and then
attach it again. But always do the first step of dropping the chain
through the opposite loop then wrapping around the weight then attaching
to the other side of the belt. This will keep the belt tight and safe.
So there you go, it’s a very simple process to put your belt on
correctly but a lot of people missed that first step. Remember, (1) drop
through, (2) wrap around your weight, and then (3) clip on to the other
side.
Now, when your resistant start pulling down, it makes your belt tighter.
If you missed that step, the belt is always going to stay loose and
open and your risk the chance of your weight falling. Just something
simple to make things safer for you.
